Fort Frederica, GA 3/19/18

Color Drawing of Fort Frederica in 1742

Centuries old conflict decided on St. Simons Island.

Georgia's fate was decided in 1742 when Spanish and British forces clashed on St. Simons Island. Fort Frederica's troops defeated the Spanish, ensuring Georgia's future as a British colony. Today, the archeological remnants of Frederica are protected by the National Park Service.

He looks like he's run aground in the grass, but, there is
enough water to get to from another direction....
Looks like a lot of sawdust to me....I remember one time my dad
took us five kids to a sawdust mill and we had those thick black
stocking on...we asked if we could play in it and of course he said
yes...however, mom had a different answer when we got home.
I thought she was going to beat all of us up!!!

driving.....
Then I had this guy coming full force at me....at the same time......
Let's not forget his buddies with the machine guns on the
front of the boat

They must of just escorted a sub either in or our of here....
this area is known as Kings Bay which belongs to the Navy

Welcome to Submarine Base Kings Bay

Welcome to Kings Bay – the east coast home to Trident nuclear powered submarines. Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay is the state-of-the-art home to the Atlantic Fleet's Ballistic and Guided Missile Submarines. Kings Bay borders the cozy historic town of St. Mary's, Georgia in the southeastern corner of Coastal Georgia, just north of the Florida border. Lifestyles exist here for a variety of tastes. Whether you prefer living in the country, a small-town environment, or the faster lanes of metropolitan and city life, it is all near Kings Bay.

No anchoring anywhere in this area
Oh look, more barreling towards me!

This is where they work on the submarines...
How about that!
I love this scenic picture!

 I love this one more!

Well we finally made it out of FL today.  It's going to be getting cold, windy, and lots of rain for the next couple of days so we are going to sit here to wait it out, in Fort Frederica, GA.

We should be dropping anchor in about a half hour.
