Southport, NC 032918

Good morning from Calabash!
It's a beautiful day on the ICW!
It was a little foggy this morning but it turned into a beautiful day!
I sure hope he makes it to wherever he is going....
Because he rocks and rolls an awful lot when other
boats pass him....we went past him at a crawl and the container
still did a lot of wobbling around!

We pulled into Southport Marina around 11 a.m.  We fueled  up and then went
right for a nap!  After napping we took the bikes for a ride.  We were headed into
town, because Bob said town was only a mile and a half away....wrong!!  We went a mile
and a half and finally stopped.  You see, we were driving on the main road with no
sidewalks, or bike lanes.  It was pretty treacherous! We looked at Google maps and we
still had another 4.5 miles to go!  So we took the bikes back and called Uber!  When
we are traveling everyday like this, our bodies don't get enough movement (exercise) and
then when we are finally able to get off the boat we need to re-introduce our legs, etc...
to using their muscles again!

We were supposed to go out to dinner tonight but we are just too tired....maybe tomorrow....

Calabash, NC Happy Birthday Shelly! 3/28/18

Happy Birthday Shelly!
Love Bob and Lynn!
Several shots of our sunrise this morning

I love these mornings when the water is so calm and
you can see the wildlife, trees, etc. in the water....

 Gemini all snuggled in.....

Osprey at the top of tree
It's amazing how much of a wake these boats can create....
Even if I turn into them I still get rocked around pretty good!

 Osprey?

 Birdies in their nest....
 Here come the turtles!
 And jet planes.....
and lot's of houses along the ICW

 More turtles!
They have made Bob's day!

We went about 55 miles today.  The weather was just about perfect.  It was upper 60's, sun, calm waters, light winds....couldn't ask for anything better! Between colds and just plain old being tired, we ended  up just relaxing.  We were going to watch some TV but Bob didn't notice the TV antenna wasn't screwed on tightly and the darn thing blew away!  No more TV until we get another antenna!

Tomorrow we are headed for Southport, NC. We may get a slip for a day or two.  Definitely first day, 2nd day not sure yet; waiting to see if it's going to rain as much as they are calling for!

Butler Island, SC 032718

The next several pictures are of how low the water/tide is....

Not sure what they are looking at....clams maybe??
 This is definitely clam hunting!

Bob found this is on the side of the road in St. Augustine
He gave it to me as a gift for my bicycle...what a man!

Do you see the dolphin fin at the bottom of the picture?
There were 3 dolphins out there playing with the birds....
it was so cool to watch!
They would fly and just stay one step ahead of us!

 Drying time....not the same birds
 Hmmmm.....interesting story...... :-)
I was driving and Bob was napping....I was coming up on this guy and
I wasn't sure what to say to contact him about going around him....so I
wake Bob up and I ask him to come out and help me....He asked what
the problem was and I told him I want to pass him but I don't know what
to call him on the radio....Tug boat at mm so and so, would that be
appropriate....Bob looks and was about to say something when all of a sudden
this guy comes across the radio "Catamaran at mm ?? you need to decide
which side you want to go by me on....I'm hauling 350 tons of steel and
you need to move.....I looked at Bob and asked if he was talking to me???
Totally surprised of course, then Bob realizes, we're not following him, he
is coming right at us!  Bob said, move out of the way and immediately
moved out of his way....Needless to say, I felt like an idiot....but Bob
admitted that he thought we were behind him also....you see 98% of the time
(at least in my world), when a tug is around, the tug is usually pushing....
this one was pulling, and not only that, there was a second tug on the back of him pushing....
I really need to get some glasses!
 Back to sight-seeing again :-)
Where we dropped anchor!

It was a long cold, cloudy day today.  Once we dropped anchor I made dinner, Bob worked on paperwork, and then we went to bed.  Pretty exhausted!
