Titusville, FL 1/4 and 1/5/18

I have been really bad keeping a blog this year.  If I had to explain it, it would be because we have not stopped working long enough to play!  We were pulled on 11/21/17 (?) and didn't get back into the water until 12/21/17 (?).  We did nothing but work on the boat the whole time, except for our wonderful Thanksgiving with the Welsh's!

We will not be going to the Bahamas this year for several reasons, but mainly because we're still not 100% happy with our sail drives.  Bahamas is not the place to be if you have engine problems with your boat!

We ended up staying two days longer in St. Augustine because of some damage that was done to our boat while trying to move it in strong winds and current.  Bob told the guy he did not want to move the boat because of this and the guy said he would do it.  Bob told him if he was willing to take responsibility of the boat he was ok with it.  The guy was like, no problem.  Well, guess what happened?, the wind and the current got it, and even with 3 or 4 guys on the pier trying to keep it from hitting the pier, guess what happened?!  Yep, we got a nice scrape on the side of the boat.  Then, to top it all off, the manager of the yard didn't want to fix it.  He told Bob he was Captain of his boat and he should of been at the wheel, Bob politely told him that the guy driving it took responsibility for it because Bob knew it was too windy and the current was too strong to try and move it then.  The manager then said, well one of your engines went out.  Bob told him he didn't know why because he hasn't had an issue with it.  The manager finally gave in and said they would fix it.  l guess he had to try?!?!

Storymaker then headed to Daytona over the Christmas holidays.  Gary, Jayne, Paula (Jayne's friend) and Dave were all there, and lets not forget their big dogs! Then onto Titusville, RR Bridge area.

(If you look to the left of the map you will see Jay-Jay Bridge, we are anchored just to the right of there....)

The NASA Railroad NLAX was a Class III industrial short-line railroad at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The railroad consisted of 38 miles (61 km) of track connecting the mainline of the Florida East Coast Railway and trackage at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. As of 2015, the railroad officially ceased operations. All of the equipment has been donated to museums and/or sold off and much of the remaining trackage now sits abandoned in place.

From Daytona Storymaker came to Titusville.  She dropped anchor over by the RR Bridge (it leads into the Cape Canaveral area).

We were going to go out on New Years here but the weather was so cold we decided to stay in, but we still had a great New Year being on our boat with all of our beautiful lights.  We also have a lot of wood ducks surrounding us, they don't want to get too close, but they are hanging with us for the New Year!

There was supposed to be a rocket launch last night but it was canceled due to weather.  So we are staying an extra day because it is now scheduled to take off tonight.  We are hoping it's going to happen, and hope we to get some great pictures!  If I have time tomorrow, I'm going to Walmart to try and buy a nice camera.  We'll see!

So today we move back to Titusville Marina with a high of 54 degrees;  water up, fuel up, do laundry, run to the grocery store....and the list goes on.  Tomorrow we are moving further south; not by much, but getting closer to the Florida I know!

P.S. In case this happened to anyone, when I did the blog 2 days ago, I published it, then I needed to fix something and lost it, and had to redo it.  I had spent much time on it, so when I lost it, I was very frustrated.  So, I found most of my pictures again (couldn't find the boys pictures), downloaded them again, then told Bob to finish the rest of it.  He did.  Hence, the reason I'm explaining all this again.  :-)
